To make air travel safer and stress-free for you, airlines and airports have stepped up their sanitization standards and staff training. Do go through protocols followed by airlines and airports, and play your part too, in making travel safer for everyone. Please pay special attention to domestic air travel & state guidelines, especially those on quarantine, e-pass etc. to ensure hassle-free transit. Non-compliance of rules may lead to denial of boarding.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands

 

Mandatory for Travellers

  • All passengers must download the Aarogya Setu App.

 

Quarantine and Testing Rules

  • All domestic air travel passengers entering Andhra Pradesh must quarantine for 14 days at home.
  • All international air travel passengers entering Andhra Pradesh must go for institutional quarantine for 7 days. Tests may be conducted between the fifth and seventh day. Depending on the test result, follow-up action will be decided and communicated by the health authorities.
  • Quarantine exemptions: Business people can be exempted from home quarantine provided they have a COVID negative certificate issued within three days from arrival, by an ICMR authorised laboratory. 
  • Thermal screening will be done for all passengers. 10% of randomly selected people (with preference given to adults>60 years and children<10 years) will undergo nose swab tests for Covid-19.

 

Air Travel Guidelines 

  • Prior to booking plane tickets, passengers are required to register on the Spandana portal and get approval for travel. Click here to register.

  • Passengers will be thermally screened before entering the airport. A self-declaration form stating that the passenger is free of Covid-19 or an Aarogya Setu status update is required before boarding any flight. Those with 'Red' status on their Aarogya Setu App cannot fly.
  • It is advisable that all passengers do a web check-in before arriving at the airport. Physical check-in has been temporarily suspended at most airports across the country. 
  • Passengers arriving at the airport should be wearing a mask at all times.
  • Passengers ought to time their entry into the airport 2 hours before departure (minimum). At most airports, the baggage drop off counters close about 60 minutes before departure.
  • No meals will be served on board due to safety concerns.
  • Only one check-in bag will be allowed.

Road Travel Guidelines

  • You have to apply online for an e-Pass to travel inter-state but no e-Pass is required to travel inter-district.
  • Only 3 people can travel with one driver.
  • Travel timing is 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • All passengers need to carry a government ID which has valid address proof.
  • It is mandatory to wear a mask while travelling.
  • A minimum of 24-48 hours is required to issue the pass.
  • No permission for pick-up or drop if the location falls in containment Zone.
  • People aged above 65 years or those with comorbidities, pregnant women and children less than 10 years have been advised to stay home.
  • A medical certificate is required for those travelling on medical grounds. A list of medicines must also be provided.

 Assam

 

Quarantine and Testing Rules

  • Different airports in Assam have different testing and quarantine rules. Passengers should check our Air Travel Guidelines below for specific details.  
  • Asymptomatic passengers, other than the exempted categories mentioned below, will have to undergo combined institutional and home quarantine for at least 14 days. The period of institutional quarantine of a passenger will be 7 days or till his/ her Covid-19 test results are declared, whichever is earlier, followed by a home quarantine for the remaining period after due hand stamping.
  • Some asymptomatic passengers have been exempted from institutional quarantine. These include:
    1. Pregnant women, children below 10 years along with siblings and parents, senior citizens above 75 years of age, those who have recently undergone cardiac/ kidney/cancer treatments or transplants as well as those who need to attend funeral-related rituals. These passengers will receive quarantine hand stamps and have to undergo strict 14-day home quarantine.
    2. Those who have already tested negative for COVID not more than 3 days prior to arrival.
    3. Those who are entering and exiting Assam on the same day, without a night halt.
    4. Certain government officials on duty, who have taken prior permission from the government of Assam.
    5. Military and paramilitary personnel who are on their way to their respective containment for quarantine.
    6. Pilots, air crew and maintenance staff of both cargo and passenger aircraft will not be quarantined.
  • Those who have to undergo institutional quarantine have an option to choose between either the government-funded facility or a self-paid hotel facility.

 

Air Travel Guidelines

  • All passengers arriving at Dibrugarh, Silchar and Jorhat airports must undergo 2 days of institutional quarantine, followed by 8 days of home quarantine. 
  • Guwahati airport has a facility for Antigen tests, which gives a result within 60 minutes. On arrival here, all passengers must undergo this test. If the test is positive, passengers will be shifted to a Covid facility. If the test is negative, passengers will proceed for an RT-PCR test and for the results of that test to come. During this period they must undergo 2 days of institutional quarantine, followed by 8 days of home quarantine. (Exemptions to institutional quarantine rule listed above).
  • Passengers opting for a connecting flight must ensure there is no overnight halt involved, otherwise they will have to mandatorily undergo quarantine as decided by health authorities.  
  • All inbound and outbound passengers will be screened at thermal screening booths manned by medical staff. Symptomatic travellers will not be allowed to enter the airport and have to undergo further health checks as per administration’s guidelines.
  • After disembarking from the flight, passengers are required to walk up to the health desks in groups of 20-25 while maintaining a distance of 1 metre.
  • There are booths outside the airport to collect undertakings from passengers and give information on the district-wise quarantine and testing centres.
  • All transit passengers travelling to other areas of North East India will be allowed to depart for their destination directly, provided they do not have any stoppages in Assam.
  • A self-declaration form stating that the passenger is free of Covid-19 or an Aarogya Setu status update is required before boarding any flight. Those with 'Red' status on their Aarogya Setu App cannot fly.

  • All passengers must download the Aarogya Setu App.
  • Before arrival, every passenger must register on COVA Punjab App. This will be checked by authorities on entry.

 

Quarantine and Testing Rules

  • Passengers travelling by air will have to undergo Covid-19 tests on a random basis, as decided by health authorities.
  • If the test result is positive, passengers will be shifted to an isolation centre.
  • All asymptomatic passengers must undergo 14 days of home quarantine.
  • All visitors staying for more than 3 days (72 hours) in Chandigarh have to register themselves on http://admser.chd.nic.in/visitregis/.
  • Business and corporate travellers do not have to undergo quarantine.

  • The e-Pass will be checked and those without an e-Pass will not be allowed to exit the airport/ train station. 
  • Everyone must give a signed undertaking stating that they will abide by all quarantine rules.
  • Everyone must download and update their status on Aarogya Setu.

  • Thermal screening and health profiling will be done for all travellers entering the state. 
  • Those who show symptoms on screening will be required to undergo a Covid test and undergo institutional quarantine till the results come.
  • All asymptomatic travellers can then proceed for 14 days of home quarantine.

  • All air travellers would be allowed to de-board the aircraft in batches of 20, after which they will have to sign required documents and undergo health screening.

Mandatory for Travellers

  • Passengers from Gujarat would be required to stay in a specified area at the airport and would be dropped off to the borders of the district. They would have to arrange for their transport from thereon. If required, they will be assisted by the district administration to contact the administration of their destination.

 

Quarantine and Testing Rules

  • Identified passengers would be required to undergo institutional quarantine in the specified facility, for 14 days.
  • For the following identified passengers, home quarantine would be allowed:
    1. Pregnant/lactating women
    2. Children below 10 years of age
    3. People with serious comorbidities such as heart, kidney, liver ailments etc.
    4. People above 80 years of age
    5. People with special needs
  • For identified passengers who are industrial executives/technical experts/consultants/government servants/other employees on business/official visits, samples would be collected the same day. If tested negative and they’re found asymptomatic, they would be allowed to resume their work. If tested positive, they would be shifted to a COVID health facility.

  • Hotels are now open, except for the ones located in containment zones, which shall remain closed until further notice.
  • According to Government issued advisories, those above 65 years of age and those with co-morbidities are strongly advised to avoid travel and hotel stays.
  • Those staying in hotels must wear face mask and practice social distancing at all times.
  • Online advance booking is mandatory and must be done at least 2 days before the date of arrival. This will help the administration maintain a list of visitors arriving in every hotel.

 

Delhi

 

Mandatory for Travellers

  • All visitors are required to use face covers/masks, and are required to follow hand hygiene, respiratory hygiene, and environmental hygiene when using any means of public transportation.

 

Quarantine and Testing Rules

  • All passengers showing moderate to severe symptoms will be admitted to dedicated COVID health facilities.
  • COVID test is not mandatory for all passengers.
  • Domestic travellers who are not exhibiting any symptoms are required to undergo home quarantine for 7 days.
  • Constitutional and government functionaries and their staff are exempt from the home quarantine.
  • International travellers are required to undergo 7 days of institutional quarantine at a government facility for free or at a designated paid hotel.

Goa 


Mandatory for Travellers

 

Guidelines for Tourists

  • For tourists, it is mandatory to pre-book an accommodation with a hotel registered with the Department of Tourism. Proof of booking for the entire duration of stay will be checked at entry points.
  • Tourists will be screened at entry points. Those exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19, will have to undergo a test at a designated facility at their own expense.
  • Tourists with a negative certificate for Covid-19 will be asked to move to their pre-booked accommodation. Otherwise, the tourist will have to go to a testing facility. Until the result is available, the tourist must undergo self-isolation at a facility provided by the accommodation unit. When the negative report is out, the tourist will be able to move out of the isolation facility. All the costs for the test, quarantine or isolation, have to be borne by the tourist.
  • Those who wish to change their accommodation must do so only to an accommodation permitted by the Department of Tourism. It is mandatory to show the proof of rebooking (if available) to the Rapid Response leader before shifting.
  • A self-declaration has to be presented to the accommodation facility for contact tracing.

 

Quarantine and Testing Rules

  • Symptomatic passengers have to undergo mandatory testing and follow it up with institutional quarantine until the results are available.
  • Asymptomatic passengers will be given the following three options:
    • Produce a Covid-negative certificate issued by an ICMR authorised lab, not more than 48 hours prior to arrival in Goa.
    • Go for mandatory 14 days of home quarantine. They will be hand-stamped, and their family members will also be required to maintain home quarantine. If someone does not have any place to home quarantine, they can opt for self-paid institutional quarantine for 14 days.
    • Opt for a swab-test (cost INR 2000) and stay in self-paid institutional quarantine or self isolation at a facility (paid by the tourist) provided by the accommodation unit in which the tourist pre-booked, till the results come. Once the result is negative, the traveller will be allowed to travel outside the facility. If the result is positive, the facility will act as per the protocol provided by the health department of Goa.

  • International travellers have to undergo 14 days of institutional and 14 days of home quarantine.
  • Asymptomatic domestic travellers do not have to be quarantined. Passengers will be required to self-monitor their health for 14 days. A declaration form of self-reporting will be required to be filled by the passengers upon arrival.

Quarantine and Testing Guidelines

  • International travellers entering Uttar Pradesh have to undergo a mandatory 7-day institutional quarantine followed by 7 days of home quarantine.
  • Domestic travellers have to undergo a mandatory 14-days home quarantine.
  • Special instructions for Noida: All those entering Noida are required to undergo mandatory institutional quarantine for a week.
  • Those entering the state for a short duration (less than 7 days) do not have to undergo quarantine. Those transiting through Uttar Pradesh have to submit details of their return travel, including their destination city.

 

Air Travel Guidelines

  • Passengers will be thermally screened before entering the airport. Every passenger needs to have the Aarogya Setu app installed on their devices. A self-declaration form stating that the passenger is free of Covid-19 or an Aarogya Setu status update is required before boarding any flight. Those with 'Red' status on their Aarogya Setu App cannot fly.
  • It is advisable that all passengers do a web check-in before arriving at the airport. Physical check-in has been temporarily suspended at most airports across the country.
  • Passengers arriving at the airport should be wearing a mask at all times.
  • Passengers ought to time their entry into the airport 2 hours before departure (minimum). At most airports, the baggage drop off counters close about 60 minutes before departure.
  • No meals will be served on board due to safety concerns.
  • Only one check-in bag will be allowed.
  • No newspapers or magazines will be provided on board any flight.
  • Before exiting the arrival hall, each passenger should complete a validation of registration.
  • The use of baggage trolleys will be minimised to ensure less number of touch point infections.
  • Passengers are requested to check the travel advisories and guidelines issued by their respective airports (departure and arrival) before travel.

 

Train Travel Guidelines

 

Road Travel Guidelines

  • No e-Pass is required to travel inter-state and inter-district.
  • e-Pass is required to travel to and from UP to Himachal Pradesh, J&K and Uttarakhand (pass must be applied from the source state).
  • Travel is banned to and from containment zones.
  • Travel timing is 5:00 a.m. to 09:00 p.m.
  • No restriction on number of passengers travelling in the vehicle.
  • All passengers need to carry a government ID which has valid address proof.
  • It is mandatory to wear a mask while travelling.
  • A minimum of 24-48 hours is required to issue the pass.
  • No permission for pick-up or drop if the location falls in a containment Zone.
  • People aged above 65 years or those with comorbidities, pregnant women and children less than 10 years have been advised to stay home.
  • A medical certificate is required for those travelling on medical grounds. A list of medicines must also be provided.
